Kalmunai Magistrates Court has arrested 12 people earlier this week under suspicion that they were involved in the Easter Sunday Bombings which have claimed the lives of over 250 people.
The magistrate's court maintained that their detention should be continued for a further two weeks until their case is heard on the 7th January.
This follows the continued detention of 63 people in Batticaloa who were alleged to have links with the banned National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ). These people were initially arrested following the attacks in April and were alleged to have helped supplier the assailants with arms.
Three women were amongst those detained.
