<p>The government of Pakistan congratulated Gotabaya Rajapaksa on his victory in the Sri Lankan presidential elections. </p>
<p>In a press statement, released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s government stated they “look forward to working with the new President and his team to further strengthen the already strong relationship between the two countries.</p>
<p>The statement further stressed that this election was “free, fair and peaceful”. </p>
