A vigil was held in Oorani on Saturday to mark the second day in the week leading up to the anniversary of Mullivaikkaal, which is being observed in the North-East as Tamil genocide remembrance week.
As part of the Tamil genocide remembrance week a vigil is being held each day at a significant location such as a massacre site.
The Oorani vigil paid tribute to 72 Tamils that were rounded up, arrested and killed on May 9th, 1985.
