Tamil protestors in Jaffna call for an end to Rohingya genocide

Protestors in Jaffna called for an end to the massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar on Saturday.

A solidarity demonstration was held in front of the Jaffna Central Bus Stand, with protestors holding placards demanding an end to human rights abuses and genocide committed by the Burmese government.

The demonstration comes as many as 40,000 Rohingya Muslims fled Myanmar in the last week, since violence flared between Rohingya fighters and government soldiers in the Rakhine state.

Northern Provincial Council members Ponnudurai Ayngaranesan and Vinthan Kanagaratnam also attended the demonstration.
