Tamils in Jaffna protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people

Protests calling for an end to the mass killings of Palestinian civilians by Israel armed forces took place opposite of Central Jaffna Bus Stand, Jaffna on Saturday.

The protest was organised by the Mass Movement for Social Justice and was joined by Tamil National Green Organization.

Protesters were shouting slogans, such as "It was Mullivaikkal then, now it is Palestine!" and were holding placards which read “Israeli terrorists, stop killing the Palestinian people!”, “Stop the attacks on Gaza immediately! Stop killing civilians!”, “Give immediate access to food, water, clothes, electricity and medicine to the Gaza people!” and “Let us rally together for the Oppressed Palestinians!”

Following the bombing of al-Ahli Arab Hospital which Israel is accused of and which is believed to have killed at least 500 people earlier this week, protests also took place in Colombo denouncing Israel’s assault on Gaza and expressing solidarity with Palestine.
