US officials extend Thai Pongal wishes

Congressman Don Davis, Congresswoman Deborah Ross, and Representative Wiley Nickel have extended their wishes to the Tamil community for Thai Pongal, the Tamil harvest festival celebrated across the US and around the world.

As the festival marks a season of gratitude for the harvest, these US representatives took the opportunity to convey their best wishes to the Tamil community.

Rep. Wiley Nickel said “may this year's festival reflect the enduring spirit of Tamils around the world”.

Congressman Don Davis said, “as we observe this joyful harvest festival, let's embrace the spirit of community, gratitude, and renewal”.

Meanwhile, Congresswoman Deborah Ross, in a message to the “to the Tamil community in North Carolina and beyond” wished everyone “a joyous Thai Pongal and hope it is a wonderful holiday spent with family and loved ones”.

The festival was marked around the world with politicians and representatives of various countries, including the prime minister of Britain and Canada also releasing statements to celebrate the Tamil communities in their countries.
