Sub Inspector arrested over abduction and murder of businessmen

A Sub Inspector of the Sri Lankan police was arrested today over the abduction and murder of two businessmen in Rathgama. 

The arrest follows the earlier detention of an Inspector of Police on Monday over the same case. 

Two businessman were abducted on January 23 by two unknown men who eye witnesses describe as wearing police uniform. 

The victims, 33-year-old Manjula Asela and 31-year-old Rasen Chinthaka, both from Rathna Udagama, Boosa, were murdered, Ada Derana reported. 

Their bodies burnt at the Kanumuldeniya-Megdagamgoda Forest Reserve in Walasmulla. Bone and teeth fragments were discovered at the site.
