Sri Lankan police and Special Task Force launch raids in Jaffna

The Sri Lankan police and the notorious Special Task Force launched a series of raids in Jaffna earlier this week, in a reported attempt to crack down on gang-related crime in the district.

Raids were carried out in Mannipay and Chunnakam on Tuesday, with police reporting that they were searching for gang members.

At least 21 houses were searched in the raid, with 3 people reportedly arrested.

Sri Lankan security forces have arrested several Tamils in recent weeks, as crime continues across the Tamil homeland.

Despite the risks, our team on the ground remain committed to providing detailed and accurate reporting of developments in the Tamil homeland, across the island and around the world, as well as providing expert analysis and insight from the Tamil point of view
