A vigil led by British Tamils was held at St Paul’s Cathedral Churchyard, London on Friday, in tribute to the victims who lost their lives in a series of coordinated attacks on Easter Sunday.
Many gathered to listen to moving speeches and hymns by Father Elmo Jeyarasa and Father Adekunle Ogunleye which contained messages of love and solidarity.
The vigil was also attended by Paul Scully MP, the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPGT), who spoke honourably of those who rushed to donate blood in the wake of the attacks.
The death toll from a series of attacks in Batticoloa and Colombo is at 253 and 500 others are wounded.
