A series of Sri Lankan government websites have been hacked today, with messages commemorating the Mullivaikkal genocide that was carried out by the state in May 2009.
The websites hit by the hackers include Sri Lanka's Ministry of Health, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in People's Republic of China and the Rajarata University website.
"Genocide on Tamils in Tamil Eelam has a long history about 70 years [...] At the final phase of the 4th Eelam war hundred plus thousands of Tamil civilians were systematically killed by Sri Lankan government forces with the support of regional countries and the super power nations," the message read.
The hackers left the hashtag “#OPSriLanka” and said it was carried out by the “Tamil Eelam Cyber Force”.
